Seriously.....It's April already?????????
"Time Flies When You're Having Fun"....or is it "Time Flies When you're too busy to notice"? One of these days I'm going to blink and TJ will be 18 and heading to college and Baby Chris (which he will still be called) will be terrorizing me with his antics. Yes I can already foresee my youngest child giving me pre-mature gray hairs. Heck, why not? I did it to my Mother. Isn't that just what the youngest child does?
There are times in this crazy life of mine that I am overwhelmed with love for my kids. My two boys are the absolute joy of my life. They are just starting to really come into their own and develop their personalities. I remember looking at both of them when they were babies and wondering who they were. What kind of person was behind that little tiny wrinkled head? Is he going to be athletic? Musical? Will he be stubborn like Dad? Or layed-back like Mom? I couldn't wait then to get to know my kids. I still feel like I'm still just scratching the surface of who they really are - I guess they are still trying to figure it out too.
TJ surprises me constantly will the stuff that comes out of his mouth. He had a conversation with Tom the other day that went something like this:
TJ: "Dad I'll let you button my pants because I love you."
Dad: "Thanks T, I love you too."
TJ: "But Dad I don't like it when you yell at me"
Dad: "Well, we yell at you TJ because we love you and don't want you to get hurt."
TJ: "But Dad, sometimes my brain just needs a drink."
WHAT????? That conversation was making perfect sense up until the last sentence. Tom and I still laugh about this - and still have yet to figure out what on earth he was talking about.
Chris is proving to be quite the little athlete. At 2 yrs. old, he is obsessed with golf (and a lefty to boot) He will hit a golf ball in the front yard for hours - and can really smack it. You tell him to keep his eye on the ball and he'll hit it dead on - every time. He's even taken to watching golf on TV with Papa Pete. Pete is in heaven. I came in the other day and the two of them were sitting on the couch very intently watching a tournament. After one of the golfers (I have no idea which one) missed a put, Chris yelled "AAHH He missed it!" I couldn't believe he was watching so intensely.
I dream of some day not be a slave to my salary and be able to spend as much time with my boys as I possible can. Because as we all know - Time Flies!!!
